Taught a course called What Does Going Green Really Mean? The curriculum for this course was self-designed and was created to be changeable based on target age
Helped students navigate the difficulty of media-saturated environmentalism and determine effectiveness of certain alleged environmental activities
Taught three variations of this course to rising 6th graders (summer of 2010), 8th and 9th graders (winter of 2010), and rising 10th and 11th graders (summer of 2011)
Taught a scenario-based course on Nuclear Energy where the students acted as mayor of a small town and had to make challenging municipal decisions based on competing scientific evidence. (2008)
Awarded a $25K E. E. Ford Grant to develop curriculum for teaching computational thinking methods by mapping analog non-computer-based modelling onto computer models (https://tinyurl.com/y8ufwnym)
Faculty sponsor and teacher for the Lower and Middle School Chess Club (which has 50+ kids annually) for the last 7 years
Supervised and participated on a multiday backpacking trip in Pisgah, NC with Sophomores each of the last 6 years
